Olympic medalist in diving Alexander Bondar says he is waiting for the return to international competitions, because there is a different atmosphere and feeling at the start.

The World Cup was held without the participation of Russians, they are suspended from participation in international competitions against the background of the situation in Ukraine.

Why didn’t you take part in the Kremlin Cup?

“I just got back from vacation and the form I got wouldn’t be good enough to jump well, but I didn’t want to jump badly,” Bondar told .

Have you watched the World Cup?

– No. I was at sea, resting. By the way, I saw messages about the Australian’s victory. It’s great when someone manages to get around the Chinese. I haven’t had anything like that yet – it felt like I was on the podium in second place, and they were first and third. But in this way, to win gold in the fight against them – no. I don’t know what emotions I would have, although I’m usually not a very emotional person.

— Do you want more diverse competition? Aren’t you bored?

– Of course you want. The feeling of international competitions is different, the atmosphere is also different – all that is lost, and that is very important. But you have to force yourself and I hope there will be international competitions.
