The Ukrainian, along with Ankita Raina from India, defeated the first seeded Barnett and Nicholls in two sets
Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya reached the quarterfinals of the doubles tournament WTA 125 in the Polish city of Grodzisk Mazowiecki.
Diana performed in tandem with Ankita Raina from India. The rivals of the Ukrainian were Alicia Barnett / Olivia Nichols (Great Britain, 1), seeded at the tournament under the first number. The fight lasted one hour and 13 minutes.
The first set was given to the Ukrainian-Indian pair extremely easily. Dayana and Ankita took five games in a row, then allowed their opponents to win back one point, but converted a set point on the first try. In the second installment, Barnett and Nicholls forced a fight. With a score of 5:3, the Yastremska/Rayna tandem did not convert a match point, but turned out to be stronger in the next game.
In the semi-finals, the winner of the meeting between Nykta Baines / Maya Lumsden (Great Britain) and Luksika Kumhum / Peangtarn Plipuech (Thailand) will become the rivals of the Ukrainian and Indian women.
Recall that earlier Dayana Yastremskaya made it to the quarterfinals of the same tournament in singles.
