The Ukrainian, along with Ankita Raina from India, lost in two sets to the British Baines and Lumsden
Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya failed to reach the doubles final of the tournament WTA 125 in the Polish city of Grodzisk Mazowiecki.
Diana performed in tandem with Ankita Raina from India. The rivals of the Ukrainian-Indian couple were Britons Nykta Baines and Maya Lumsden. The fight lasted one hour and 13 minutes.
Dayana and Ankita lost the first game on their serve, after which the whole set was in the status of catching up. With the score 3:5, the Ukrainian and the Indian again lost their serve.
In the second game they had to recoup from 0:3. The turning point could have happened at 3-4, but Baines and Lumsden outright won the game on someone else’s serve. And subsequently, on the second attempt, they converted a match point.
Despite this setback, Yastremska continues to perform at the tournament in Poland in singles. There, thanks to a strong-willed victory, she made it to the semi-finals, where she will fight Zeynep Sonmez from Turkey.
