Olympic handball champion Vladlena Bobrovnikova announced on social media that she was cured of cancer.
In mid-April, the 35-year-old athlete told that at the request of doctors, she would end her career at the end of the season. On May 13, Bobrovnikova revealed on social media that doctors had diagnosed her with Hodgkin’s lymphoma (an oncological disease of the lymphoid tissue).
– After three months of treatment, six courses of chemotherapy, I was told that everything was clear on PET CT. There are no tumors! I’m happy in heaven! All work is not in vain, – wrote Bobrovnikova.
Bobrovnikova, as part of the Russian national team, became the Olympic champion (2016) and the silver medalist of the Olympic Games (2020), the bronze medalist of the 2019 World Championship. She is also a six-time champion of Russia and seven times winner of the Russian Cup as part of the Rostov-Don team.
