Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin told that the city management was working on the instructions of Tatarstan leader Rustam Minnikhanov and was looking for a good place to build the Sports Palace, where the figure skating school of Alina Zagitova will be located.
In June, Minnikhanov, within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), discussed with Zagitova a plan to open a figure skating school in Kazan. Later, the region’s Minister of Sports Vladimir Leonov presented the Olympic champion to the department heads of the department for further cooperation. Leonov also told that currently Zagitova’s school will exist on the basis of the existing Sports Palace, and after that it can move to a separate facility.
