The main stadium of Ukraine, NSC Olympicmarks his century.
On August 12, 1923, the competitions of the first Olympiad of the Kiev region were held at the arena. In 1924, a football field measuring 120 by 70 meters was equipped. Running tracks appeared along the perimeter of the field, and locker rooms and showers appeared nearby.
In the early 1950s, the first wooden scoreboard appeared at the stadium. Later, a colonnade appeared, which became the hallmark of the arena, and four towers with searchlights were erected around the perimeter, after which the stadium was able to host competitions in the evening.
After the second reconstruction, another tier of stands appeared, which began to accommodate 100,062 spectators. The stadium went through several redevelopments. After the installation of individual seats in 1998, its capacity was 83,000 seats.
The stadium hosted the Euro 2021 and Champions League finals in 2018. The arena hosted World and European Championship qualifying matches, as well as many other tournaments.
