Athletistic/ Biathlon. Recently, many Russian athletes have been suspended from participating in international competitions for political reasons. However, in Ukraine they believe that it is necessary to strengthen the sanctions against the representatives of our country. The head of the Ukrainian Biathlon Federation, Ivan Krulko, made his statement. He believes that it is necessary not only to eliminate Russians and Belarusians from competitions, but also to suspend the membership of these countries in sports federations.
– It is necessary not only to prohibit the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in international competitions, but also to exclude their sports federations from international unions. It is necessary to act as it was done by the IBU. They not only decided not to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete, but more importantly, they suspended the membership of the Russian Biathlon Union and the Belarusian Biathlon Federation from the IBU. And it is the only one of all the international federations to have taken such a decision. It is necessary to make sure that they cannot even come to international conferences, ”said the press service of the FBU citing Krulko.
