Gamova said she does not believe in admitting Russian volleyball players to the Paris Olympics

Double Olympic silver medalist Ekaterina Gamova in an interview with , she said that she does not believe in the admission of Russian volleyball teams to the 2024 Games in Paris.

The Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced at the end of March recommendations on the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to international competitions in a neutral status. They include a clause prohibiting the participation of representatives of these countries in team competitions. The decision on the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to the Olympics in the French capital has not yet been made.

– I don’t believe in admission to the Olympics. As far as I know, there are a number of conditions, for example, an athlete should not be a member of CSKA and Dynamo sports societies. For game species, this is almost impossible. We have a lot of Dynamo clubs.

– But the IOC’s recommendations currently only concern international tournaments, not the Olympic Games.

I don’t think it’s possible to separate everything. International federations and athletes will be against it, Gamova told .

The Paris Olympic Games will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
