Ukrainian defender absent due to injury
Strasbourg outplayed Lyon in the first round match championship of France – 2:1.
There were no goals in the first half, and the home team did not even hit the target before the break. But in the second half, Sobol’s teammates brought both attempts to perfection. First, Jean-Ricner Belgar scored with an accurate blow, and soon Lebogang Motiba consolidated the success.
Lyon did not give up and won back one goal – at the end of the meeting, the Argentine defender Nicolas Tagliafico scored.
Ukrainian Eduard Sobol did not take part in the victory of his club. He continues to recover from an injury sustained at the pre-season camp.
Strasbourg avoided relegation last season, finishing 15th. Lyon finished seventh and did not qualify for European competition. In the second round on August 19, the Weavers will play with Montpellier, and Strasbourg will visit Monaco the next day.
