This will be a mandatory title defense.

Promoter Eddie Hearn announced that his next fight is the Croatian heavyweight Filip Hrgovic will hold with the winner of the battle Oleksandr Usyk Daniel Dubois.

“Of course, we will insist on the mandatory defense of the IBF title. That was our main condition before the fight with McKean.”

“Hrgovic needed this fight to keep him moving. The IBF has already confirmed that it will appoint Hrgovic to fight the winner of the Usyk-Dubois fight. The fight will take place with the status of a mandatory title defense.”

Hrgovic defeated Australian Demsey McKean in his last fight on a boxing evening in London at the O2 Arena. The Croatian retained his status as a mandatory contender for the IBF heavyweight title, which he won last August by defeating Zhang Zhilei.
