Chelsea Officially announces signing of Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.
The midfielder signed an eight-year contract with the Blues with the option of an extension for another season. It was reported that Brighton will receive 115 million pounds for the player.
Previously, the auction for Caicedo was won by Liverpool, offering 110 million pounds against 100 million from Chelsea. However, the Ecuadorian turned the Reds down, stating that he wanted to join the London club. The midfielder agreed with Chelsea in May on the personal terms of the contract.
Caicedo made 43 appearances for Brighton in all competitions last season. The midfielder has one goal and one assist.
Chelsea played a draw in the opening round of the Premier League with Liverpool (1:1). In the next match, the team of Ukrainian Mikhail Mudrik will play with West Ham on August 20.
