The My Capital half-marathon will be held on June 26 in Moscow on Universitetskaya Square, reports the press service of the event.
A large-scale event of one of the largest running series in Russia “Pharmeco – Running along the Golden Ring” – the half-marathon “My Capital” will celebrate its fifth anniversary this year. More than five thousand people from more than 70 regions of the country will participate in the event.
In 2020, a new national record was set at the My Capital Half Marathon. Vladimir Nikitin covered 21.1 km in 1 hour and 1.09 seconds, breaking the Russian record, which stood for 24 years.
This weekend, professional athletes will take part in the event: Nikolai Chavkin, Elena Sedova, Valeria Zhandarova, Fedor Shustov and others.
Traditionally, athletes from the #MoreThanYou Charitable Foundation for Developing Inclusion in Sport can also participate in the race over distances of 10km and 21.1km. This time, together with the wards of the charity fund, not only volunteers, but also famous athletes will overcome the distance. Advisor to the President of the Russian Football Union, ex-captain of the Russian national football team Alexei Smertin, vice-president of the Russian Paralympic Committee, champion of the Paralympic Games in football Ivan Potekhin, Paralympic champion in football, champion of Europe of the Russian team Sergey will support the athletes and help them overcome the Manzhos distance, as well as the European and world champion, Honorary Master of Sports of Russia Andrey Shimanov.
Half-marathon participants will be able to run a distance that corresponds to their age and level of training: 300 m and 600 m (children), 5 km, 10 km and 21.1 km.
