Previously, Ukraine’s Youth and Sports Minister, as well as National Olympic Committee Chairman Vadim Gutzeit, said that Ukrainian athletes would participate in the 2024 Olympics if Russian and Belarusian athletes were in neutral status.
“Ukraine is determined. We have created a strong international coalition of 35 countries in favor of fair sport. Together, we are ready to withdraw from the Paris Olympics if Russia and Belarus are allowed to compete. We hope that the IOC will make the right decision and pull them out of the Olympics,” Shmygal wrote on his Telegram channel.
Remember that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has not yet taken a final decision regarding the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in the Paris Olympics. An official statement on this issue is expected in October at the earliest.
