Swiss midfielder signed until 2028
Monaco announced the signing of midfielder Denis Zakaria from Juventus. A five-year contract has been signed with the Swiss football player.
The 26-year-old football player for Borussia Mönchengladbach played 125 matches in the German Bundesliga. In January 2022, he moved to Juventus, but failed to break into the basis of the Turin club.
Zakaria spent last season on loan at Chelsea London. He has 11 matches and one goal for the Blues. In May, the London club decided not to activate the option to buy the midfielder.
As part of the Swiss national team, Denis Zakaria played at two European Championships and two World Championships.
Juventus finished seventh in Serie A. The team was fined 10 points in the championship for financial fraud, and also disqualified from European competition.
Monaco finished the last Ligue 1 championship in sixth place. In the first round of Ligue 1 2023/24, the Monegasques beat Clermont 4:2 away. The next match the wards of Adolf Hütter, who knows Zakaria from Borussia M, will play against Strasbourg Eduard Sobol on August 20.
