Athlete Ekaterina Ivonina established the all-Russian achievement in the 2000-meter steeplechase, reports the ARAF press service.
At the All-Russian competition in memory of Georgy Necheukhin in Chelyabinsk, the athlete covered the distance in 6: 03.16, beating the figure for 1994, which belongs to Marina Plyazhnikova (6: 11.84). Second place in the race was taken by Anna Tropina (6:23.95), third was Ekaterina Domnina (6:37.31).
In the men’s 2000 meter steeplechase, Ildar Nadyrov won with a score of 5:37.00 minutes. Silver went to Maxim Yakushev (5:8.07), bronze to Artem Korol (5:44.83).
Competitions in Chelyabinsk are held as part of the Queen of Sports series of athletic tournaments, which will last until August.
