Competitions will be held in Budapest from 19 to 27 August
Ukrainian athlete Marina Bekh-Romanchuk commented on the upcoming speech at World Cup 2023. The Ukrainian will represent our country in the long jump and triple jump.
“The training is going well. Getting ready. As always, the last weeks are very important. You try to concentrate as much as possible on absolutely everything that you do. There are no small things – every detail matters.”
Why choose Turkey [для подготовки]? First of all, it’s warm here, very warm. All the way I like. Secondly, very comfortable conditions in terms of training, there is absolutely everything I need: a stadium, a slope track, a gym. Everything you need for this preparation period. Also comfortable living conditions, food. This is the place where you can concentrate on your work as much as possible and there are absolutely no unnecessary factors that distract you or knock you out or interfere. Indeed, such a training camp, where you are already focused on the World Cup.
“Of course, every athlete expects the highest quality and successful performance at the World Championships. For this we train and work. Of course, I expect to show maximum results. To make me happy – this is at least personal best. Indeed, in length, in general, I don’t remember when I updated my personal best. I want some movement forward. Of course, in the triple I want to be as competitive as possible, because this year the girls are very well prepared. I am more than sure that the competition will be at a high level: both in length and in triples it will be very hot.”
“In general, there are a lot of young girls, talented. There are all these hormonal and emotional surges, and they are ready to turn mountains upside down. And in the triple, there is unrealistic competition, when the girls are very well prepared – from Cuba and Jamaica and all the rest. I’m sure it will be very cool to jump.”
“I have no doubt that this World Championship will be very strong, because a year before the Olympics. Each athlete raises his condition as much as possible. See what and how. This will be such a test start for many, so I want to be as ready as possible to fight.”
The expanded composition of the Ukrainian national team for the 2023 World Cup included 29 athletes from the main list and one reserve. The competition will be held in Budapest from 19 to 27 August.
