The goal of the Czech team is to keep the three-goal advantage obtained in the first match
Prague head coach Slavia Jindrich Trpisovski shared his expectations from the return match against Dnepr-1 in the third qualifying round Europa League.
“After the first game, which ended 3-0 in our favor, we have a certain advantage and we are in a better position. But we respect the opponent, and we want to keep and improve this advantage. Tomorrow we will have the same attitude as in the first game, despite the advantage in the score,” said Trpisovski.
“I would like to note that Dnipro-1 is a great team with many strong individual players. Tomorrow they will play at home and see how it goes. Our goal is to go as far as possible and secure a place in the group stage of the Europa League.”
“Dnepr-1 is a strong team and they are keen to prove that the first game was wrong and plan to avenge this disappointing result for them. They have reviewed the match, perhaps they will release other players in the starting lineup, and it should be noted that they have a strong selection of performers.
“Before that, Dnipro-1 played on equal terms with Panathinaikos, who defeated Marseille the day before, and this once again proves the quality of the team. We also played with them, and we understand what our opponent can be like. Tomorrow the main thing for us is to keep the handicap that we have. Perhaps we will change to a more defensive play to keep the result.
The first match of the confrontation in Prague ended with a crushing defeat of Dnepr-1 (0:3). In the middle of the second half, Slavia remained in the minority, but Oleksandr Kucher’s team could not take advantage of the numerical advantage, conceding the third goal in the end.
The return match between Dnipro-1 and Slavia will take place on August 17 in Kosice. The winner of the confrontation will play with Zorya in the playoffs of the Europa League qualifier. The loser will be relegated to the Conference League, where they will meet with the best team in the pair Lech – Spartak Trnava.
