The management of the Munich club could not agree with Manchester City on the transfer of Ortega and is ready to trust the 35-year-old goalkeeper
Bavaria decided to trust Sven Ulreich as the main goalkeeper until Manuel Neuer will not recover from injury.
Previously, Stefan Ortega from Manchester City was considered a priority for the Munich club, but the negotiations failed.
In turn, the Bayern bosses are pleased with the level of the 35-year-old Ulreich, which he showed in pre-season matches.
We will remind, earlier it became known that the 37-year-old Neuer remains out of the game at least until 2024. In addition, the German champion has already managed to sell Jan Sommer to Inter, who successfully replaced Manuel in the short run.
Ulreich has been playing for Bayern since 2015 (with a one-year break for Hamburg). Sven was the main player in 2017/18 when he made 29 appearances in the Bundesliga. In total, he has 87 fights as part of the permanent champion of Germany. In 29 of them there were no conceded goals.
Last week, Bayern defeated RB Leipzig (0:3) in a devastating match for the German Super Cup. On August 18, Thomas Tuchel’s team will play Werder Bremen.
