The player will miss the first part of the season
midfielder Manchester City Kevin De Bruyne will undergo surgery after additional medical tests.
The operation on the hamstring will take place in Antwerp, Belgium. Thus, De Bruyne will miss at least three to four months.
De Bruyne started for the City on Matchday 1 of the Premier League against Burnley. The Belgian played 23 minutes before being replaced by Mateo Kovacic. Citizens coach Pep Guardiola said that the midfielder had the same problems as in the 2022/23 Champions League.
Initially, the Belgian suffered a hamstring injury in the Champions League final against Inter (1:0). Kevin was expected to risk missing the start of the season due to injury.
Guardiola’s team defeated Burnley away (3:0). City’s next match at home is Newcastle on 19 August.
