Chelsea announced the transfer of midfielder Southampton Romeo Lavia. The 19-year-old Belgian signed a seven-year contract with the London club.
The Blues were reported to pay £53m for the 19-year-old Belgian plus £5m in bonuses. Chelsea outbid Liverpool, who were willing to pay £42m.
In the 2022/23 season, Lavia made 29 appearances in the English Premier League, scoring one goal and earning 9 yellow cards. Born in 2004, the football player has already made his debut in the Belgian national team.
Chelsea played a draw in the opening round of the Premier League with Liverpool (1:1). In the next match, the team of Ukrainian Mikhail Mudrik will play with West Ham on August 20.
