Two more medals were won by Ukrainian athletes at junior wrestling world championshipwhich takes place in Amman (Jordan). Alina Filipovich took the gold Maria Efremova managed to get silver.
The current European champion U-20 Filipović (under 57 kg) got a dramatic victory over the Japanese Itika Arai. Yielding 0:3, the Ukrainian managed to make a comeback and take the lead in the last seconds — 5:3.
Efremova in the category up to 53 kg took the upper hand in three bouts in a row, but in the final she lost to last year’s world champion Antim Antim from India.
Recall that earlier at the junior world championship, Ivan Priymachenko became the silver medalist, and Victoria Slobodenyuk won the bronze medal.
The U-20 Wrestling World Championship is taking place in the capital of Jordan from 14 to 20 August 2023.
