Dnepr-1 sensationally lost to Obolon

Kievans won the first victory and bypassed Kucher’s team in the table

SC Dnepr-1 sensationally conceded Obolonleading in the score after the first half, in the 4th round UPL – 1:2.

Dnipro quickly opened the scoring – Pikhalyonok did it from the penalty spot. The teams went to the break with a minimal advantage of the nominal hosts (they played in Uzhgorod), but in the second half Obolon turned the game around.

Already in the first minute of the second half, Rostislav Taranukha equalized the score. He was provided with an assist by Igor Krasnopir, who had just come on as a substitute. And at the 83rd minute, Krasnopir himself wrote his name on the scoreboard, scoring the winning goal from Vitaliy Grusha’s pass.

Thanks to this failure, the team of Oleksandr Kucher lost the opportunity to rise to the European Cup zone. Obolon got the first victory of the season and left the relegation zone, while beating Dnipro in the table.

This is the second consecutive misfire of the vice-champion of Ukraine against an outsider. On August 13, Kucher’s team ended in a draw (1:1) with Minai.

In the next round, the Dnipro team will play away against the championship leader Rukh. Obolon will host Kryvbas on August 28.
