Choreographer Ilya Averbukh who acted as the director of the opening ceremony of the university sports festival in Yekaterinburg, said the show should tell the contest guests even more about Russia, unite the spirit of youth and the city .
The International University Sports Festival starts in Yekaterinburg on August 20. Representatives from 36 countries are said to be attending. Competitions will be held in 14 summer sports.
– It’s very exciting. These are important competitions, and communication matters a lot here, we tried to tell even more about Russia in the opening ceremony, to unite everyone, the spirit of youth, the spirit from Yekaterinburg.
It seems to me that we managed to do a lot of different acts, with different moods, using modern technologies that are now used in all major events. The concept was based on strength of spirit, strength of love, strength of youth. Everything is connected here.
We will also talk about upcoming events, such as the Games of the Future, which will be held in Kazan. At the end of the gala show, the guys will perform a number to Khabib’s song, which is the headliner.
