Alexander Pervukhin: ‘I would like to play real rugby already’

Enisey-STM head coach Alexander Pervukhin commented on the result of the winning match against VVA-Podmoskovye.

– I would like to play real rugby, but in recent months it has not been possible. It all started with last season’s final, and the rain accompanies our games all the time. And that time gave us the last 10-15 minutes to play. And everything else came down to tactical duels in midfield, possession of the ball in static. We were a little more interesting in there. The main thing is to know where the ball will bounce, where your player will hit. Such a field equalizes all advantages and disadvantages, so luck and luck are more influential here. The first half was even in that regard. In the second, when it cleared up, our advantage started to show.

Our personnel problems? No, the situation will not be better with us for the next match. We expect some players to return by mid-September. We will say goodbye to someone, for example, with one of the South African players who will not be able to play for us. Unfortunately, we now have such a period with a large number of injuries. Today, young Sipkin, whom we took out of the reserve, was seriously injured.
