Djokovic beats Alcaraz in Cincinnati tournament final

Serb and Spaniard played the longest match in the history of the tournament

Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic in the final of the ATP 1000 (hard) tournament in Cincinnati, USA, he beat the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.

The duel between the two leaders of the ATP ranking was a success. Each of the three sets lasted more than an hour, and the entire fight took 3 hours and 50 minutes – this is a new record for the tournament.

The first game was left for Alcaraz – 7:5. The next two sets went to a tie-break, and in both cases Novak turned out to be stronger – 9:7 and 6:4.

Note that both tennis players during the fight made five double faults. At the same time, Alcaraz filed a lot more aces – 11 against two.

The Serbian caught up with the Spaniards in the number of victories in personal meetings – 2:2. Djokovic won his 95th career tournament ahead of only Jimmy Connors and Roger Federer.

Recall that earlier Djokovic, following Alcaraz, qualified for the ATP-2023 Final Tournament.
