The World Athletics Association (World Athletics) has cleared Russian runner Alsa Lenneman to represent the United States in the competition, according to the World Athletics website.
Lenneman is eligible to compete for the United States on June 28, 2023. The athlete was given such an opportunity under the rules of the international federation due to the fact that “she lives in the specified country or territory (depending on the circumstances ) for at least three years”.
The 29-year-old athlete, who previously played under the name Bogdanova, is the winner of the 2017 Russian Cup in the 3000 meters hurdles.
On June 24 at the Johnny Loaring Classic, Lenneman placed eighth in the 1500m.
