Russian Cup silver medalist in the 3,000 meters hurdles Alsu Lenneman, who was cleared to play for the US team, has never represented the Russian national team and has not submitted a change request of sports citizenship at the All-Russian Athletics Federation, told the ‑VFLA press service.

Earlier, it became known that World Athletics allowed Russian runner Lenneman, who previously played under the name Bogdanov, to represent the United States in competitions starting June 28, 2023. The athlete received such an opportunity in under the rules of the international federation on the basis that “she has lived in the specified country or territory (depending on the circumstances) for at least three years”.

– According to the information we have, Alsu Bogdanova married an American a few years ago and has been living with her husband in the United States for a few years. She has never played for the Russian national team and has not submitted an application to the ARAF to change sporting citizenship, the ARAF press service said.
