Former Manchester United, WBA and Watford goalkeeper Foster announces retirement

The goalkeeper has made nearly 400 Premier League appearances and played for England at the World Cup

40 year old goalkeeper Ben Fosterwho played almost 400 matches at the level English Premier Leaguedecided to end his career.

Foster left the biggest mark in the history of the WBA (223 fights) and Watford (207). For five years he was on a contract with Manchester United, but he was not a base player and spent only 23 fights at the Red Devils’ goal (10 clean sheets).

His last club was Wrexham, for which the Englishman has made 12 appearances this year. Foster started the 2023/24 season at the start of the National League club (the fifth tier of English football), making four appearances in which he conceded 13 goals.

Foster himself decided to stop his playing career, explaining that his performances did not meet the level that he himself requires from himself.

Ben Foster played 8 matches for the England national team (2007 – 2014), and even took part in the 2014 World Cup, which failed for the Three Lions, where he played in the match against Costa Rica (0: 0).
