Petkov’s team is one step away from reaching the playoffs
Ukrainian women’s volleyball team played the third match in group A European Championship 2023. Ivan Petkov’s team beat Belgium — 3:0.
In the first set, the Ukrainians got a confident victory – 25:18. At the end of the second game, Petkov’s team was losing 18:22, but showed character and made a comeback – 25:23.
In the third set, Ukraine confidently led 20:14, but allowed the Belgians to close the gap to a minimum. At the end of the game, the Ukrainian volleyball players still put the squeeze on their rivals – 25:23.
This is the second victory of the Petkov team at the European Championship. Previously, the blue-yellows beat Hungary (3:0) and lost to Serbia (0:3).
Ukraine ranks second in Group A, ahead of Poland and Belgium in additional indicators. The top four teams in the group will qualify for the Euro 2023 playoffs.
Petkov’s team will play the next match on August 23 against Slovenia. The beginning is at 18:00 Kyiv time.
