The promoter notes that the boxing teams have not yet agreed on a fight for the first announced deadline in December.
Famous promoter Frank Warren stated that he doubts that the fight between the two former world champions Anthony Joshua And Deontay Wilder can organize.
“I have to be honest, I don’t know and it doesn’t really bother me. I once expressed my opinion on this fight. If they do, then so be it.”
“I don’t think they can do it. I do not think that they will succeed and get the money they are counting on. They talk about another set-up fight for AJ. I think there will be problems with that because the public will expect more.”
“This fight could not be organized for December, as they said right away. I have said about this before that they will not succeed. In the end, it will happen, Joshua will not fight Deontay in December. So he can arrange another interim fight at that time.”
Earlier, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn said he was optimistic about a deal to fight Wilder soon. If the fight does fall through (we are talking about the funds that the organization Skill Challenge Promotion of Saudi Arabia must provide for the event), then, according to Hearn, AJ will fight in December.
Earlier, Wilder’s manager Shelley Finkel expressed optimism about the future fight against Joshua. The fight is expected to take place in early 2024.
Joshua knocked out Robert Helenius in the last fight, which took place on August 12 in London. Deontay’s last opponent was also Helenius – the American won by knockout in the first round.
