Interim WBC welterweight title on the line
Fight of two former world champions Yordenis Ugas And Manuel Barrios for the interim WBC welterweight title on September 30.
The bout will take place on the undercard of the fight between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Jermell Charlo. Boxing evening will be held in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena. Recall that Ukrainian Oleksandr Gvozdyk will also perform on the undercard of the Alvarez-Charlo fight.
The fight between Ugas and Barrios was planned to take place in July, but was postponed due to the fact that the WBC belt holder Errol Spence chose to fight Terence Crawford and lost the title. The fate of a permanent WBC belt will depend on rematch talks between Errol and Terence.
Ugas last fought in April 2022, losing to Errol Spence by TKO in the tenth round. Barrios defeated Giovani Santiago in February.
