Fifth Olympic qualification for shooters and first in high-speed pistol
Ukrainian shooter Denis Kushnirov won for national team of Ukraine license for Olympic Games 2024 in shooting competitions.
As part of the 2023 World Championship, Kushnirov qualified for the 25-meter small-caliber pistol shooting final, finishing sixth in the end. Thanks to participation in the final round, Denis issued for the blue-yellows a ticket to the Olympics in this type of program.
This is the fifth license for the Paris Games for Ukrainian shooters and the first in a high-speed pistol. Earlier vouchers were won by Sergey Kulish (rifle from three positions, 50 meters), Pavel Korostylev and Elena Kostevich (air pistol, 10 meters), as well as Irina Malovichko (skit). It should be noted that Kushnirov’s license is not nominal, any shooter ready for the competition will be able to go to the Olympics.
The 2023 World Shooting Championship is being held in Baku from August 14 to September 1. Earlier, silver medals at the competition were won by Elena Kostevich in 25-meter shooting with a small-caliber pistol, as well as Nikolai Milchev and Irina Malovichko in mixed doubles in clay shooting.
