Russian swimming champion Alexander Yegorov said he hadn’t specifically prepared for the International University Sports Festival after a busy season.
Egorov (3 minutes 58.07 seconds) finished fifth in the 400m freestyle on the first day of swimming competition at the Yekaterinburg Festival.
– Very difficult. I did not prepare for this start on purpose, after the Russian Cup I began my rest, I still continued it, but the university asked me to speak, to defend honor. I couldn’t refuse, although in one of my worst forms, I only swam two days before the competition.
You haven’t even shaved.
– If you are not functionally ready, there is no point in shaving. Here I will swim a lot of relay races, but on personal races I will look at the state. After these competitions, I will start to get involved in work and I think everything will be fine,” Egorov told .
