Athletistic/Chess. The first match of the men’s Chess World Cup final ended in Baku. Magnus Carlsen, a Norwegian grandmaster, and 18-year-old Indian chess player Rameshbabu Pragnanandha recorded a draw after the 35th move.

In the fight for third place, Azerbaijani grandmaster Nijat Abasov emerged as the leader, who unexpectedly beat American Fabiano Caruana in just 26 moves.

The second matches of both matches will take place tomorrow, August 23, at 2:00 p.m. Moscow time.

It should be remembered that in the semi-finals Abasov lost to Carlsen and Caruana lost to Pragnanandha after a tie-break.
