Ukraine for the first time in 18 years was represented at the World Cup by two athletes in the final of the high jump competition
Ukrainian athletes Andrey Protsenko And Oleg Doroshchuk reached the final World Cup 2023 in high jumps. Since 2005, Ukraine has not had such a representation in this discipline at the world championships in athletics.
Our jumpers could not compete for medals. Doroshchuk, a debutant of competitions of this level, took the last 13th place in the final, failing to take the bar of 2.25 m. Protsenko became 11th, stopping at 2.29.
As a result, the Italian Gianmarco Tamberi celebrated the victory. He, like the American JuWon Harrison, showed a result of 2.36 meters, but used fewer attempts.
The World Championships in Athletics takes place in Budapest from 19 to 27 August. Ukraine is represented at the competitions by 29 athletes.
