Athletistic/Figure Skating. Former Russian figure skater and Olympic pair skating champion Tatyana Totmyanina has expressed her reaction to the long-awaited appearance on the ice of Olympic ice dancing champion Roman Kostomarov.
On August 22, Roman Kostomarov, who survived a partial amputation in 2023, appeared on the ice during his wife Oksana Domnina’s performance at the premiere of Ilya Averbukh’s show Letters of Love in Sochi.
“Today everyone had deep emotions. Even us, although we didn’t see Roman Kostomarov for the first time, unlike the public. In the final, everyone just stood up and cried backstage, because it takes great mental strength not only to get out of such a state and return to life, but also to step on the ice, to surpass yourself. In any case, it arouses deep respect and support . I’m sure it’s also an inspiring moment for the public. In this life, everything is possible, the main thing is to have a strong desire”, – Totmyanina shared his thoughts with a Sport24 correspondent.
