The basketball player spent the previous season with BIPA – Odessa region
Cherkasy Mavpy signed big man Andrey Agafonov.
The 37-year-old basketball player won the bronze medals of the Ukrainian championship five times as part of Khimik, and also became the champion and won the Ukrainian Cup in the colors of Budivelnyk. In addition, Agafonov played for Odessa, Ternopil and clubs from Lithuania, Germany, Romania and Hungary.
Andrey spent last season as part of the BIPA team – Odessa region. The big man averaged 14.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists.
Earlier, Mavpy announced the transfer of forward Andriy Kalnichenko. Also, the agreements with the club were extended by defenders Nikita Ruslov and Sergey Kuznetsov, center Sergey Skira, as well as Artur Nazarenko and Maxim Fesun.
In the new Superleague 2023/24 season, the team will continue to be led by Artem Slipenchuk. Under his leadership, Mavpy took seventh place in the last Super League.
