Lawyer Sergei Radko explained what threatens the Olympic figure skating champion Alina Zagitova for running a red light.
Zagitova posted a video of herself driving a car on social media. The frame captured the moment the car crosses the level crossing, when the green light for pedestrians is on. Additionally, the video shows that cars traveling in the opposite direction stand in front of the stop line, obeying traffic laws. Also, the moment of the offense is filmed by traffic cameras, according to the Shot Telegram channel, Zagitova was driving a black Mercedes-Benz G-Class.
– If there was a violation, if it was really about going through a prohibited traffic light, then a fine of 1,000 rubles is imposed. If it is a repeated violation during the year, it is either a fine of 5,000 rubles or deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle. But regarding a specific violation, for proper qualification you need to see data from all cameras from the place of a possible violation,” Radko quotes in Gazeta.Ru.
Zagitova suspended her sports career in December 2019.
