Third win in a row for Petkov’s team
Ukrainian women’s volleyball team won the third victory in a row and secured an early exit in the playoffs European Championship 2023.
Another victim of Ivan Petkov’s team was the Slovenian national team. The victory was not easy. In the first set, our volleyball players lost 19:25. In the second game there was an equal fight, and only at the very finish the Ukrainians turned out to be stronger.
The turning point of the meeting can be considered the development of events in the third set. All the way the national team of Ukraine was in the role of catching up, but managed to snatch the final victory 26:24. Further, our compatriots consolidated their success – 25:17.
Thanks to this victory, the Ukrainian team guaranteed one of the first four places in Group A ahead of schedule, which means access to the playoffs of the championship.
At the group stage, our volleyball players have one match left to play – against the Polish team, which also won three victories in four rounds.
