Ukrainian midfielder will remain in Serie A
Ukrainian midfielder Victor Kovalenko will move from Atalanta V Empoli. According to the Italian media, the signing will take place tomorrow, August 25. The details of the deal were not specified.
Together with the 27-year-old Ukrainian, the club from Tuscany will sign 22-year-old winger Nicolo Cambiagi in Atalanta.
Earlier this summer, Empoli signed Daniele Maldini from Milan on loan.
Kovalenko moved to Atalanta in February 2021, but for the entire time he played for the club from Bergamo for as many as three minutes. Twice he was loaned to La Spezia, where in two seasons he played 47 matches, scored 1 goal, gave 5 assists.
Last season, Empoli finished 14th in Serie A. The Tuscan club started the 2023/24 season poorly: they lost to Cittadella in the Coppa Italia, and then lost 0:1 to Verona in the first round at home. In the 2nd round, the wards of Paolo Zanetti will play away against Monza on August 26.
