Medalist at the short course world championships Daria Mullakaeva said that she liked the new Palace of Water Sports in Yekaterinburg and would like to debut there in the future during the Russian championship.
The palace hosts competitions within the framework of the international university sports festival, which takes place in Yekaterinburg. Mullakaeva won the 100m freestyle and the 4 x 100m mixed crawl relay as part of the Ural State Mining University team in this arena.
– How do you get these competitions at the end of the season, or is it easier, because there is such a movement of festivals?
“There is a real movement here. In general, I really like that people come here to compete with their heads free, there is not such a burden of the Russian championship, when everyone is on edge.
In fact, I came here after a vacation, I swam a week before these competitions, I rested a week and I feel good.
– They say there is a discotheque in the village!
– Disco every day until midnight, but I don’t go there, because after seven hundred meters in two days, my legs can’t even walk, to be honest.
– For some, this holiday makes it difficult to sleep.
– I don’t worry about sleep, the beds are so hard that in principle I don’t sleep, so I could go to the disco if I had the strength.
— Why do you support the Ural State Mining University?
– I swam for a long time in Yekaterinburg with coach Dmitry Petrovich Shalagin. It was just then that I entered, I studied there for many years and I am finishing. This year I am 25 years old, it is the last start of my career in university competitions. Symbolically !
– This is your first time in this arena. How is the swimming pool?
– I really like it here, I hope there will be a Russian championship here, it’s cool here. He swims very well, the water is dense. If you choose between Peter and this pool, a thousand times for this one. Kazan and Yekaterinburg are my favorite swimming pools in Russia. Here are awesome stalls, awesome pool. We need to create cool lighting, like in Kazan, and it will usually be cool.
– The Cavaliers have few fans. You have more, but it is suspected to be other teams hanging out in the stands.
– I did not understand the joke at all, because the tickets seem sold out and there are few people. Maybe they were distributed among the athletes, but few come. But hey, it’s cool here. The rest can be improved,” Mullakaeva told .
