Slavia’s coach: Zorya played as expected and predictable

The Prague club beat Zorya with a score of 2:0

Mentor Slavia Jindrich Trpiszowski commented on the first match with Zorya (2:0) in the playoffs of the Europa League qualification. The coach of the Czech club stressed that his team was ready for the opponent’s actions.

“I think the game in the first half was excellent from our side. Unfortunately, he did not crown the most important thing – goals. We created a lot of pressure and had a lot of dangerous moments. Luckily, we managed to score after a corner, after which the game loosened up. Given our game, we should have scored more than two goals.”

“The opponent showed what we were preparing for and played as we expected and predicted. Anything can happen in a week. Now we have a two-goal lead. We need to stay focused.”

The first confrontation between the Czech and Ukrainian clubs ended with the victory of Slavia – 2:0. The victory for the hosts in the end of the meeting was brought by the goals of Tijani and Masopust.

The return match between Zorya and Slavia will take place on August 31 in Lublin. The winner of the confrontation will advance to the Europa League group stage, the loser will play in the Conference League group stage.
