Choreographer Valeria Chistyakova told that in the new short program Yasmina Kadyrova And Valeria Kolesova she wanted to wear something modern, not classic.
Kadyrova and Kolesov teamed up in the winter of 2022. Last season they won medals at the Russian Grand Prix and finished fourth at the Russian Championship. Chistyakova has worked at the Moskvina club since 2021.
– What will be the new short program of Yasmina Kadyrova and Valery Kolesov? Nikolai Moroshkin described him as fast and young.
– Indeed, the guys themselves are young and handsome, so I wanted to put something modern on them to respond. Not a classic. Yasmina and Valera will show the zeitgeist with their skating – how young, beautiful and energetic they are. It seems to me that the guys will do serious things later. And now they are young and more interested in what we imagined. Nikolai and I started implementing this program in late spring, and now we are making changes. The music has changed a bit and Tamara Nikolaevna makes her own corrections.
– Do you agree with the opinion that this couple is more of a friendly image than a matter of love?
– I think they will open on different topics. However, Yasmina and Valera haven’t been riding together for a long time. It is still too early to produce programs with a sexual connotation, like those of Boikova and Kozlovsky. But if they go in that direction, something might just happen in the next few seasons. Of course, their potential is not fully revealed.
– How do you remember Yasmina and Valéry at work?
– Charming, with them it’s easy. Not in great shape yet as a couple, but I’m sure we’ll overcome all difficulties. The main thing is that the guys are very busy, they treat their work with a soul, ”Chistyakova told .
