State Duma Deputy of the Russian Federation Maria Butina expressed her words of support for Russian athletes who enter the competition with the letter Z on their uniforms.
Formerly a Russian gymnast Ivan Kulyak was suspended for a year for demonstrating the letter Z on the form at the World Cup awards ceremony. The athlete then filed an appeal.
– For me, the most powerful moment was when our athletes entered the competitions with the letter Z, realizing that appropriate action would be taken against them by the West, that they would be banned. But, despite this, they understand that the interests of the country, the fatherland and the people are superior to personal interests.
