Olympic figure skating champion Roman Kostomarov and his wife Oksana Domnina addressed fans with words of gratitude for their support.
On Tuesday, Kostomarov appeared on the ice for the first time in public after illness and surgery. This happened at the Averbukh show in Sochi. The 46-year-old skater, after skating Domnina, stepped onto the ice in sneakers and hugged her.
– Greetings to all from Sochi. We wanted to thank you all for your support. Thank you very much, we all read, see and feel, thank you very much for your warm and kind words and wishes. We wish everyone good health, take care,” Kostomarov and Domnina said in a joint video posted on the skater’s Telegram channel.

Kostomarov has suffered several amputations since January after being hospitalized. At the beginning of July, the athlete announced that he was discharged from the hospital, since then videos showing the adaptation process have appeared on his social networks.
Kostomarov, paired with Tatyana Navka, won gold at the 2006 Olympics in Turin in ice dancing.
