The International Military Sports Council (CISM) is the only sports organization that has not applied sanctions against Russia. The performance of the Russian team at the tournament is therefore official. Athletes are not deprived of their flag and their native anthem.
In April 2023, an international CISM congress was held in Moscow, attended by delegations from 120 countries, where the tournament was confirmed.
The first Rugby-7 championship of the International Military Sports Council was held from August 24 to 26 in Moscow, it was our country that proposed to include rugby-7 in the program of the International Military Sports Council and of the World Military Games, thus becoming the ancestor of the tournament.
