Only in the fifth round did the Briton make more attempts to hit than the Ukrainian
WBA/WBO/IBO/IBF heavyweight champion fight statistics revealed Oleksandr Usyk with British boxer Daniel Dubois.
The Ukrainian struck 359 blows against 290 from the opponent. Only in one fifth round did the Briton make more attempts to hit Alexander (36 vs. 29), in other cases Usyk was more active.
The Ukrainian had an absolute advantage in the number of accurate hits – 88 versus 47. In each round, the number of successful hits by Alexander was higher than that of Daniel.
Recall that it was in the fifth round that Dubois managed to send the Ukrainian to the floor with a blow, which the judges considered below the belt. The Briton stepped up, but Alexander managed to regain the initiative. In the ninth round, none of Dubois’ punches hit the target.
At the end of the eighth round, Usyk knocked down Dubois, but the Briton managed to get up and continue the fight. And in the ninth round, the Ukrainian knocked out the Briton after another accurate blow.
After the fight, Alexander said that he intended to relax and spend time with his family. For his next fight, the Ukrainian challenged WBC champion Tyson Fury.
For the Ukrainian undefeated boxer, this victory was the 21st in the professional ring, the 14th time Usyk ended the fight ahead of schedule. Dubois suffered the second defeat of his career.
