Our country will host the continental championship in 2025
Ukraine will lose the right to hold a male Euro 2023 in volleyball due to the military invasion of the army of the Russian Federation.
President of the Volleyball Federation of Ukraine Mykhailo Melnyk said that the European Volleyball Confederation offered an exchange. Instead of Euro 2023, Ukraine will host the event in 2025.
At the same time, participation in Euro 2023 for the blue-yellows remains in question. There is a possibility that Ukraine will receive a wild card to participate in the continental championship.
According to Melnik, the official decision will be made in August.
Recall that in June the men’s team took fourth place in the Golden Euroleague. In the match for third place, Ukraine lost to Croatia in a dramatic match.
Early on the morning of February 24, Russia launched rocket and air strikes on most Ukrainian cities and then launched a full-scale military invasion. The war against Russia continues for the 122nd day.
