Usyk: Dubois said “It’s a stupid attitude when you think that if you lose a fight, you will leave boxing”

The Ukrainian champion cheered up the opponent after winning the fight

WBA/WBO/IBO/IBF World Heavyweight Champion Oleksandr Usykafter learning about the plans Daniel Dubois to end his career after the defeat, tried to dissuade the British boxer from a rash decision.

After a victorious fight for himself, the Ukrainian approached the opponent to cheer him up.

“I read that Dubois said that if he lost, he would end his career. I said, “Hey, this is not good. You are young, you can train.” It’s a stupid mindset when you think that if you lose a fight, you’re out of boxing. Perhaps these are emotions, but I don’t know, ”Usyk said.

Recall that the big evening of boxing took place on August 26 in Wroclaw. The central event was the duel between Usyk and Dubois. At the end of the eighth round, Alexander knocked Daniel down, but the Briton managed to get up and continue the fight. And in the ninth round, the Ukrainian knocked out the Briton after another accurate blow.

After the fight, Usyk said that he intended to relax and spend time with his family. For his next fight, the Ukrainian challenged WBC champion Tyson Fury.

For the Ukrainian undefeated boxer, this victory was the 21st in the professional ring, the 14th time Usyk ended the fight ahead of schedule. Dubois suffered the second defeat of his career.
