Honored Coach of Russia in Figure Skating Tamara Moskvina told that the International Skating Union (ISU) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) should make a fair decision regarding the skater Kamila Valieva and noted that she sees no reason to suspect the organizations of bias.
Appeals by the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA), the ISU and the International Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) against the decision of the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Committee (DAK RUSADA) in the Valieva case were previously consolidated into a single procedure. The CAS has scheduled closed hearings with representatives of all parties on September 26, 27, 28 and 29, 2023. After that, the IOC and ISU will decide the results of the 2022 Olympics.
– The whole country has been worried about Kamila Valieva since the second year. The hearings of the Court of Arbitration for Sport will begin in a month. How is this all going to end? Will we have team gold?
– Competent people from ISU, IOC and lawyers hired to deal with this issue are dealing with the problem. I am not an expert, I await the decision of these organizations. Let’s get the verdict and move on. These organizations should decide everything fairly, why should we suspect them of any injustice? Although everything happens in life, so we are waiting for the verdict,” Moskvina told .
In January, DAK RUSADA determined that although the athlete had committed an anti-doping rule violation, she bore “no fault or negligence”. So far, Valieva has escaped sanctions, except for the cancellation of its results on the date of the sample, December 25, 2021. This decision was appealed by the AMA, l ‘ISU and RUSADA.
Valieva at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing helped the Russian team win gold in the team competition.
